Mapa LaNefesh ("a map for the mind") is a community project for the public good. The map is meant to connect people who need help with the places that can provide it. It also aims to improve the quality of available information about care services, and lets anyone update, correct or add information about them.
What the map includes: the map gathers public services — state services, the health funds (HMOs) and nonprofit organizations — provided free of charge, funded by the national health basket, or at a significantly and permanently subsidized cost.
The site offers two maps; switch between them with the button at the top of the page. The map of services for children and youth up to 18 covers special-education schools and classes, educational psychological services, public mental health clinics, inpatient wards and day treatment, welfare and family-therapy services, out-of-home frameworks, nonprofits, employment programs and helplines. The map of services for adults covers mental health clinics, hospitalization, day treatment and stabilizing homes, community rehabilitation and housing under the Rehabilitation Basket, addiction treatment, resilience centers, welfare departments, nonprofits and helplines.
This site exists to make information accessible and to link to it, nothing more. We are not responsible for the nature, quality or availability of care or services at the organizations and institutions on the map, and we do not recommend any of them. The information was collected from public sources and may be partial or out of date — verify the details with the provider itself. The site is not medical, therapeutic or educational advice and is not a substitute for consulting a professional.
Special thanks to Ayelet Tikotzinski, Naama Yaffe and Shir Beitan Gil, who shared substantial, thorough fieldwork with Mapa LaNefesh and added more than 120 quality services in the north!
